DNC Convention Day 2: A Changed Convention

America wants change, and thus far the Democratic convention is really different. No vicious attacks that focus on blame, no fear directives, and nothing to feed the media's pundits with negative rhetoric. In fact, last night and throughout the day the media folks are criticizing the convention for being "soft".

At first glance this new "changed" approach may feel soft or somehow weak. But listen to the speakers and allow those initial feelings to pass. Then see if you do not feel the understated power of positivity. See if you don't feel "better" somehow.

"...for many Americans, that fair shot is becoming more of a long shot."
- Mark Warner, D US Senate Candidate

The real problem facing America is that many of us are not ready for the change we want. We are wired for negativity. It's all we see on the evening news, in the newspapers, movies and on television. Violence, profanity, verbal violence are now normal features of our media.

It may require some effort to embrace the change being put forth by the democrats. But don't despair, the Republicans are there for you if you're not ready yet with ample doses of all the familiar fear and negative attack messages you can handle.

By the way, this is not a partisan plug. I'm simply characterizing the tone and messages I see put forth by the campaigns and the media.
