President Obama is hobbling into the final stretch of his re-election run. He has lost credibility with his public base because they feel he did not do what he promised he would. He has lost support elite fiscal base (the wealthy, business owners, and c-suite managers) because he cannot continue to follow their prescriptions which have proven only to exacerbate the gap between them and the poor and working class.

It is important to see clearly what President Obama has done, and done really well. He has made a concerted and highly focused effort to bridge the big divides. He has reached out and tried to work with those across the aisle on a range of issues seeking to achieve compromise focused on common aims. Read more »

It can now be said officially that FOX News uses a policy of deliberately misrepresenting facts to purport falsehoods to its audience on a range of topics. This places the number one news network in the interesting position of serving as the single most dangerous media entity, threatening the credibility of the entire broadcast journalism community.

Since the industry sees television news as a "business", and since televised news (and print news for that matter) are ratings and profit driven, then how can we, the people, trust anything we see or read when it may be delibereately distorted and falsified to get ratings and puport positions that benefit the purveyors? Another sordid reality is that the paid on-air personalities that deliver this misleading rhetoric do so with full awareness and complicity.
